Telangana Congress Mulls Mass Resignation In Protest Against Government

A possibility of resignation of all Member of Legislative Assembly and Member of Legislative Council is being taken into consideration by Telangana Congress after expulsion, from the complete budget session, of two of the Congress MLA and suspension of 16 more MLC and MLA. The expulsions and suspensions were carried out in response to the protests done by the MLA and MLC while the Governor was addressing the House. Eye of Swamy Goud, Chairman of Legislative Council, was also hurt in the process.

The judgment of Speaker was strongly disapproved by Uttam Kumar Reddy who went on to say that it took less than a day for the Speaker to come to a judgment in case of Congress MLA/MLC, while the same Speaker took no action on petition to disqualify MLAs who for four years defected to Telangana Rashtra Samiti which was the ruling party. The Congress leaders have also claimed that Swamy Goud has not suffered any real injury and is merely pretending.

While the Congress leaders are undertaking a hunger strike for 48 hours, Reddy went on to claim that the entire proceeding was orchestrated by KCR as a way of stopping the leading opposition from getting involved in talks on what would be the last budget of TRS government. He also went on to ask why there was no video recording of Swamy Goud getting hit by headphones.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also went on to say that KCR government has been completely unsuccessful in upholding the commitments made earlier which included providing houses for poor, land for Dalits, reservation for STs and Muslims and solution of issues encountered by many parts of society. He also added that the CM is concerned that the MLA/MLC of Congress will reveal the incompetency of the ruling government during the session.
